The first step is to hoop a piece of no - show mesh and
run the squaring stitch.
The next machine step is the tacking stitch. Trim away
the excess batting up to the tacking stitch with scissors.
Place a piece of appliqué fabric face up on top of the
placement stitch.
TIP: Remember to leave at least 1/2” seam allowance
outside the batting area.
Place a piece of batting on top of the squaring stitch,
making sure it is completely covered.
Once trimmed, run the placement stitch for the first
appliqué.
Next run the tacking stitch to hold the appliqué in place.
Trim away the excess fabric without trimming the seam
allowance.
