sides together.

Being mindful of leaving a 5 ½” opening as indicated in step !,
use a sewing machine to stitch a regular straight stitch at a ½”
seam allowance around all four sides of the placemat.

Using scissors, trim away any excess material, cutting it to a
½” seam allowance on all sides.

Use scissors to clip the corners at a 45 degree angle to
prevent any excess bulk.
Pin the back fabric to the placemat with right sides together.
The dotted line is a visual of where to stitch next. NOTE: You
will not stitch the entire way around, as you will need to
leave a 5½” opening for turning later!

Turn your design right side out through the gap left in
the seam.
