Now, lay the back fabric for the pocket right side facing
down onto your work surface. Then lay the blocks you just
combined face up over the back fabric.

Transfer to your sewing machine and straight stitch in the
ditch of the center combination block and both the left and
right motif blocks.

Now, use scissors or a rotary cutter and ruler to trim away the
excess back fabric, cutting it to match the 1⁄2” seam allowance
of the main pocket designs.
Pin the back fabric to the pocket to prevent it from shifting.
NOTE: You can also use a temporary spray adhesive to
secure the two layers, if desired.
Once the straight lines are sewn, the reverse side of the
pocket will look like this, outlining all the rows. Be sure to
also straight stitch the left and right end of the motif blocks!
Now, cut a strip of binding fabric measuring 30” x 21⁄2” and
place it along the top edge of the pocket. Pin in place.
NOTE: You will only be binding the top edge of the pocket.
