MAKING the pillow
A B
Now that your pom poms have been made, we can
begin the actual pillow design. To start, hoop a piece
of Peel N Stick stabilizer to fit your hoop, and score
the paper surface with a seam ripper as shown.
Use the edge of the seam ripper to lift an edge of the
paper and peel back to expose the sticky surface.
Remove all the paper cover within the embroidery
frame.
C D
Cut the fabric for your pillow top 18” x 22”. Then, fold
the fabric top to bottom and again left to right, with
the correct side facing in. Using the markers on your
hoop frame, draw cross hairs to mark the center of
the hoop and place your folded fabric in a quadrant.
Unfold the fabric and smooth across the Peel N Stick
to remove any bubbles, sticking the fabric securely to
the surface. NOTE: You will want your fabric as flush
to the stabilizer as possible!
E F
Since our fabric is crushed velvet, and for any fabric
with a pile/nap, use a piece of water-soluble topper
to cover the fabric’s surface. Use pins to secure the
topper in place.
Run the “Simple” design of your choice over
the topper. For our pillow, we are creating the
bumblebee simple design (SDOT-BEE).
