Fold the top seam allowance under 1/4”, then another 1/4” in order
to make the edge even. Pin in place and press with a steam iron.
These quilted shirt pockets are a great way to bring
life into a shirt that is torn, worn, or too plain for
your liking. Create a custom garment in a snap!
Place the quilt block back into your sewing machine with the back
side facing up. Using matching thread and a walking foot, sew
down the fold about 1/4” in from the top.
Carefully place the quilt block onto the shirt in the desired
position. Pin into place.
Stitch along the outside edge of the pocket, approximately 1/4” in
around the three sides.
To add the pom pom trim, measure it around the pocket, then pin
in place. Be sure to turn the raw edge under, and make sure the
alignment of the pom poms is equal on each side.
Then use matching thread to stitch along the inner edge of the
pom pom trim.
