On the backs of the two straps, make a chalk line
(indicated in white) down the length of the material
directly in the center (3⁄4”).

Once you have created both sides of the bag design,
gather and cut the remaining vinyl to create (2) 11⁄2” x
18” straps and (1) 3” x 20” cut for the band of the bag.
Draw a notch (in white) on both sides of each design
to indicate the start and stop points for the side/
bottom of the bag.

Repeat step N for the second strap. Once sewn, both
straps should look something like this (sewn lines
indicated in white). Set the straps aside.

Before attaching the band of the bag, measure
the distance from one notch to the other along the
bottom of the bag to find the length needed. Cut a
strip 3” wide to the length just measured. To sew,
place the top corner of one long edge, wrong sides
together, at one of the notches.
Sew very close to the edge (about 1/8” seam
allowance), moving SLOWLY. Follow the curves of the
design and adjust the band as you go, stopping at
the corners to pivot the design.
N
We will now conceal the raw edges for the straps. To
do this, take a strap and fold the vinyl side in towards
the chalk line. Sew about 1⁄8” in from the folded edge.
