Now, lay the base fabric for the flag right side up, covering the
design shape completely.
Continue to run the embroidery steps for the stippling as well as
the placement stitch for the puffy letter.
Run the tacking stitch for the high loft batting and appliqué fabric.
NOTE: The letter will be tacked down with specialty spot
tacking in order to secure the high loft batting before the
standard 2-ply tacking stitch.
Run the next step in your machine, which will be the tacking stitch
for the base fabric.
TIP: We suggest waiting to trim the base fabric to prevent any
pulling from occurring!
Now, take a piece of high loft batting and your letter appliqué
fabric (we chose glitter vinyl) and place both pieces together, with
right side up, covering the placement stitch completely. Tape
securely in place.
Once tacked down, trim away the excess high loft batting and
appliqué fabric.
TIP: Trim close to avoid batting peeking out of the letter, but be
careful not to pop any stitches or the appliqué may come out!
