To begin the block, run the first step of the design
which will be the squaring stitch for the batting.
Place a piece of batting over the squaring stitches,
covering them completely.

Once the batting is tacked down, use a pair of
scissors to trim away the excess from the tacking
stitches.
Now, place your base fabric right side up and over
the batting, being sure to leave enough fabric for at
least a 1⁄2” seam allowance.
K L
Run the tacking stitch for your fabric in a coordinating
thread. Then, continue to run the open dot
embroidery design of your choice. We suggest a
black thread for the best look in your coloring quilt!
When the design is complete, remove it from the
hoop. Use a rotary cutter and ruler to trim the block
to a 1⁄2” seam allowance. Your quilt block is now
finished!
