M N
Once you have finished filling in all the pom poms,
your design will look something like this.
BACK of the design
You can now trim down any unnecessarily long tails.
TIP: For added security, you can apply a fabric
stiffener glue on the tail ends to secure them to the
back of the fabric, and leave to dry overnight.
O P
Now, cover the back of the design with a piece of
iron-on fusible interfacing. This will prevent any
pieces from falling out or shifting too much.
NOTE: For our design, we are using Pellon SF101
Shape Flex in white.
Your pillow case top is now complete. Now, you will
create the envelope style back for the pillow case.
Q R
Begin with two pieces of matching fabric, both cut
to 13” x 13”. On the backsides, mark a 1⁄2” in from the
edge on both pieces. Fold the raw edges in to the
line, then fold again, creating a 1⁄4” hem, and pin.
Using a walking foot, stitch the folded hem in place,
about a 1⁄4” in from the edge or enough to catch the
fold.
