Continue to the next machine step, which will be a placement
stitch for the first piece of appliqué.
Place your base fabric, right-side up, covering the placement
stitch on all sides.
Once the fabric is tacked down, trim away any excess fabric.
Place a piece of appliqué fabric right side up, making sure to
cover each section of the appliqué placement stitch.
