Step-by-Step
Instructions
A B
The first step is to hoop a piece of No Show mesh and run the
squaring stitch.
C D
The next machine step is the tacking stitch, which holds the
batting in place. Use scissors to trim away the excess batting up
to the tacking stitch.
E F
Next, take fabric and place it right side up on top of the placement
stitch. Make sure that you are completely covering the placement
stitch, and that there is at least 1/2” seam allowance outside of the
batting area.
TIP: If you’re using patterned fabric, pay close attention to the
direction of the fabric.
Place the batting on top of the squaring stitch. Make sure that the
squaring stitch is completely covered on all sides.
Once trimmed, run the placement stitch for the first regular
appliqué.
Run the tacking stitch and trim away the excess fabric within the
batting. Be sure to leave the 1/2” seam allowance outside of the
batting.
