Now, it’s time to sew. Use a matching thread and sew along 1⁄4”
from the edge. This will hold the seam in place.
Leave the scarf ends raw, but sew 1⁄4” from the edge to keep it
from fraying and to give it a stronger edge. Now we will set this
aside and work on the towel.

To alleviate excess bulk, trim away the hem of one of the short
ends of the towel. The towel width will be wider than the scarf’s
width, so use pins to pleat a short edge of the towel.
Sew the pleats 1⁄2” from the edge, removing pins as you go.

Next, pin the raw edge of the scarf to the raw edge of the towel,
faces out. The last piece is the accent flange. Align the long edge
of the accent flange with the raw edges of the towel and the scarf.
The accent flange will be face up, as shown.
Arrange the edges of each piece carefully, then pin all layers
together. Sew each layer together, 1⁄2” from the edge, removing
pins as you go.
