CHOOSING COLORS
FOR YOUR FISH
When you start choosing threads for
your design, the best place to begin is an
actual photo of the species! We pulled our
inspiration and color palette from the image
results of a quick online search. To make
things easier, we’ve even included the
name of each fish on the design pages.
FABRICS
Since these fish are created with a hidden
appliqué, the fabric color is does not have
a huge impact on the design, though we
suggest sticking to more natural colors.
THREADS
Create your color palette by pulling from
real images, or let your creativity decide!
We think a range of muted colors, like
taupes, tans or greys, are best to have on
hand for a realistic finish to your fish.
NOTIONS
A good pair of scissors and fusible
interfacing is all you’ll really need!
Depending on what you choose to stitch
these designs on, you may need to adjust
your notions list accordingly to include a
rotary cutter and ruler.
