Once you have completed the design, the final step will be the
tacking stitch for the diamond shape. The shape on the block is
shown in the insert above.
Once trimmed, the block will look something like this. Remove
the two excess pieces and work only with the remaining diamond
shape. Repeat steps 1-3 with the remaining 7 diamonds needed
to complete the project.
Next, take the first two diamonds and line them up, edge to edge.
Pin the diamonds together along the edge you wish to sew.
Next, remove the project from the hoop, and trim around the final
diamond-shaped tacking stitch. Leave about 1/2” seam allowance
on all sides.
Once you have completed all 8 diamonds, lay them out to make
sure that the pattern is continuous.
Sew the two diamonds together along one side, 1/2” from the
edge, or follow the tacking stitch as shown.
