M N
Take your first piece of folded fabric appliqué and place it right
side down covering the edge of the placement stitch (indicated
with dashed line) by at least a 1⁄4”.
O P
Now, take the fabric and pull it down over the folding stitch, giving
it a finger crease, and use tape or spray adhesive to secure the
fold. Then, proceed to run the tack down stitch for the fold.
Q R
Your first appliqué and folded fabric will look something like this
once trimmed.
The next step will be the folding stitch.
Trim away any excess fabric from the tacking stitch, leaving a 1⁄2”
extending past the batting for your seam allowance.
Using the design’s numbered machine steps and the labeled
design pictures, continue to place any remaining standard
appliqués or folded fabric pieces, being mindful of trimming and
maintaining your 1⁄2” seam allowance.
