Once all the batting is trimmed, the block will look something like
this.

The next machine step is the tacking stitch, which will hold the
base fabric in place.

Remove the block from the hoop and use a rotary cutter and ruler
to trim away the excess fabric and stabilizer. Leave at least 1⁄2”
seam allowance.
Place the base fabric face up on top of the batting. Be sure to
leave at least ½” seam allowance on all sides.
TIP: Depending on how thin your fabric is, you may need to
use fusible interfacing to strengthen the fabric.
Run the decorative embroidery step to complete the design.
The first hooping is now complete. Set the block aside for now.
TIP: This design can be repeated as many times as you like to
create a quilt instead!
