Begin by hooping a piece of No Show Mesh stabilizer, and
running the first machine step which will be the squaring stitch for
the batting.

Run the next machine step, which will be the tacking stitch for
the batting.

Your trimmed batting should look like this.
Place the batting on top of the squaring stitches, making sure to
cover them on all sides.
Using scissors, trim away any excess batting on all sides of the
block. Trim as closely to the tacking stitches as possible.
Then run the placement stitch for the first piece of appliqué.
