Begin by hooping a piece of No Show mesh stabilizer to fit
your hoop.

Place the batting, making sure to cover the entirety of the
squaring stitches.

Using scissors, trim away any excess batting on all sides of the
tacking stitches. Be sure to trim right up to the tacking stitches.
Run the first machine step, which will be the Squaring Stitch
for the batting.
Run the next machine step, which will be the tacking stitch for
the batting.
Your trimmed batting should look like this.
