Being asked to take tests is good news. The day before and during assessments,
eat right, exercise and get plenty of rest to be energetic and relaxed. For skills and
cognitive tests, review whatever it is they are testing for. For personality and interest
for their job, make a copy and share.
References
Reference requests are most appropriate after interviews have established a mutual
interest between you and the employer.
Ask with whom they would like to speak. Be willing to share not only professional
references who can speak to your abilities and accomplishments but also personal
references who can talk about your character and passions. Be careful about giving a
reference with your current employer. Call or email people you give as references, so
they are prepared for the employer to contact them.
