Hiring Manager Interviews
This interviewer is usually the person to whom you will report if you are hired.
The interview is usually in person lasting an hour or more, but sometimes it will
be by video conference or phone. When you meet, ask about their background
and current position. Seek to serve them by asking questions about what they
want to be accomplished. Be alert for opportunities to connect relationally.
Take notes for your follow-up email.
Sequential Interviews
It is not unusual to interview with a variety of people one after another – not
only the hiring manager and human resources representative but also others
involved in the hire.
Team or Panel Interviews
Two or more people might interview you at the same time. The advantage is
that you have a chance to see how they interact.
Presentation Interviews
You may be asked to give a presentation followed by Q&A. This approach is
common for sales positions. It gives you a chance to show your communication
abilities.
Stress Interviews
frustrating or intimidating, do not fear or be angry. Pray for wisdom, strength
and courage.
Introductory Interviews
You might be introduced to a senior executive for a 5 to 15-minute meeting. Take
advantage of the opportunity to share your appreciation for the organization
and job.
