the light shines in the darkness; and
the darkness grasped it not.
There was a man, one sent from God,
whose name was John. This man came
as a witness, to bear witness concerning
the light, that all might believe through
him. He was not himself the light but
was to bear witness to the light: It was
the true light that enlightens every man
who comes into the world. He was in
the world, and the world was made
through Him, and the world knew Him
not. He came unto His own, and His
own received Him not. But to as many
as received Him, He gave the power of
becoming sons of God; to those who
believe in His name: who were born not
of blood, nor of the will of the flesh,
nor of the will of man, but of God.

AND THE WORD WAS MADE
FLESH, AND DWELT AMONG US.
And we saw His glory - glory as of the
Only-begotten of the Father, full of
grace and of truth.
R Thanks be to God.
PRAYERS AFTER MASS
Prayers for Russia
His Holiness Pope Pius Xl decreed
and requested this to be the chief
intention for these "Prayers After
Mass." Realizing its importance to
Russia and the rest of the world -
will make for devout recitation.
“Hail Mary,” three times. Then:
HAIL, HOLY QUEEN, Mother of Mercy,
our life, our sweetness, and our hope!
To thee do we cry, poor banished
children of Eve, to thee do we send up
our sighs, mourning and weeping in
this valley of tears. Turn then, most
gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy
towards us; and after this our exile,
show unto us the blessed fruit of thy
womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O
sweet Virgin Mary.
P Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.
R That we may be made worthy of
the promises of Christ.
P Let us pray:
O GOD, our refuge and our strength,
look down with favor upon Thy people
who cry unto Thee and through the
intercession of the glorious and
immaculate Virgin Mary, Mother of God,
of her spouse, blessed Joseph, of Thy
holy apostles, Peter and Paul, and all
the Saints, mercifully and graciously
hear the prayers which we pour forth
to Thee for the conversion of sinners
and for the liberty and exaltation of
Holy Mother Church. Through the
same Christ Our Lord. R Amen.
ST. MICHAEL, the Archangel, defend
us in battle, be our protection against
the malice and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him we humbly pray,
and do thou, O prince of the heavenly
host, by the divine power, thrust into
hell, Satan and the other evil spirits
who roam through the world, seeking
t he ruin of souls. R Amen.
