LABOR OF LOV E . Nothing says “I care” more than a handmade
sentiment, and what better than an embroidered project? We all love
embroidery and use our machines to create beautiful works of art, but
when did you last stitch a project by hand? Whether you’ve been hand
embroidering before you even owned your first machine, or if this would
be your first stitch by hand (no judgment here), we’ve taken this month’s
beautiful 3D Organza Flowers collection and created a D.I.Y. that’s sure to
make a pretty project!
REAL DEAL. Often, we crave the simple-yet-kitschy look of hand
embroidery and can choose designs that have been specially digitized for a
hand stitched look to run on our embroidery machine. Now, we’re teaching
you a whole new way to use your hand stitched designs, by actually learning
to hand stitch them! The finished results are sure to be unique to each
person, and can be a great way to pass time, relieve stress, or even just take
a little time to yourself to create something. The best part? There is no time
limit, so if you want to stitch it in one sitting or stretch out the project to last
you several weeks, these hand stitched designs are sure to bring a sense of
pride in your finished work.
EMBROIDERY BAS I C S . Hand embroidery is fairly simple: you use
a needle threaded with several strands of embroidery floss to weave in and
out of your hooped fabric for different stitch effects. We chose to keep our
stitch styles simple for an easy-to-reproduce look, but don’t shy away from
learning a new knot or two, you never know when it may come in handy!
If you need a little more inspiration for how to get started or how to create
different stitch types, a quick internet search can help you get started.
