Lay the backing face down. Place the quilt top face up on top of
the backing fabric. The backing fabric should be 2” larger on all
sides when compared to the quilt top.

Stitch in the ditch to attach the quilt top to the backing fabric. Use
a matching or monofiliament thread to do so. Once complete
you will need to cut your back fabric so that it is flush to the quilt
top.
Use pins to hold the quilt top and backing fabric together.
Next, we will add binding. You will cut your binding strip 2 1/2”
wide by the perimeter plus a few inches of the quilt top. Place
the binding face down along the edge of the quilt. Fold back the
corner of the starting point to create a triangle as shown.

Pin the binding in place. Using a 1/2” seam allowance from the edge of the quilt block, use
the walking foot to stitch a straight line until you reach the corner.
