CREATING THE ARMS
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS
S T
Take the FRONT design that has already been completed
and use a piece of tape to cover the HOOK velcro.
TIP: This tape allows for easy turning inside out so the
velcro will not stick to your various appliqué fabrics.
Lay the FRONT design onto the BACK design in the hoop,
right sides together, stretching if needed to align the outer
edge tacking stitches. Use pins to secure the designs in
place, following with tape to prevent shifting.
U V
Once aligned and taped in place to the stabilizer, remove the
pins before returning the hoop to your machine.
Run the last step of the design, which will tack the two design
files together (shown in black).
NOTE: An opening will be left at the top to turn the design.
W X
Remove the designs from the hoop. Using a ruler and rotary
blade, trim away an excess stabilizer and fabric to a 1⁄2” seam
allowance.
With a pair of scissors, trim down the seam allowance to a
1⁄4”, leaving the 1⁄2” seam along the top opening as well as the
gap. This will help prevent bulky seams once the arms get
flipped.
