J. Once the back fabric has been
trimmed, both pieces should
be the same size as shown here.
K. To attach the pom pom trim,
align the flat edge of the trim
with the edges of the tapestry
side of pillow and pin in
place. The pom pom trim
will be facing inwards when
positioned correctly.
L. Using a sewing machine and
a clear or matching thread,
stitch just along the flat edge
of the trim to attach it to the
tapestry side of the pillow.
M. Once the trim is attached,
place the front and back of the
pillow face to face as shown.
N. Take care to tuck the pom
pom trim inside the pillow so
that it does not get caught in
the final attachment process.
Pin the two sides of the pillow
together, leaving a 5" opening
in the bottom as shown.
O. Using your sewing machine,
and a clear or matching
thread, stitch just inside the
tacking stitches of the tapestry
blocks to attach the front and
back of the pillow. Continue
around the entire perimeter,
backstitching at the start and
end of each side.
P. Once the pillow is sewn
together, use scissors to trim
the corners at a 45 degree
angle to eliminate any bulk.
This allows for more pointed
corners once the pillow is
turned.
Q. Using the opening left while
sewing, turn the pillow right
side out.
R. Your turned pillow should
look something like this.
