To create the channel for the flag's dowel, start by marking 1"
in from the top edge of the flag.
Measure 23⁄4" from the top and mark again. Repeat this on
both sides at the top of the flag.

Next, measure 21⁄2" away from both sides of the center line
and mark. This will mark the gap that will allow you to turn
the project inside out later on.
Starting at either top mark, stitch along the flag's edge. Sew
at a 1⁄2" seam allowance, removing the pins as you go.
Carefully trim the excess fabric along the drawn lines to
remove the excess fabric from the point of the flag.
