Your block should now look something like this.

Run the next machine step, which is the placement stitch for
the design’s first standard appliqué.
NOTE: Since these blocks have folded fabric borders, the
base fabric will get placed like a standard appliqué!
Place the appliqué fabric right side up over the placement
stitches, being sure to cover them entirely.
Using a pair of curved tip embroidery scissors, neatly trim
away the excess batting, being sure not to trim through the
tacking stitches.
