bonus Project: mailbox cover
HOW TO MAKE A GNOME MAILBOX COVER
We wanted to take the fun of these little gnomes even further with a unique Bonus Project: an embroidered Mailbox
Cover! This simple-to-make project requires only a few key items, like outdoor fabric or durable canvas, your design,
and some magnets—making attaching it to your mailbox sew simple!
A video for this Bonus Project can be found on our YouTube channel at youtube.com/AnitaGoodesign.

FIGURING OUT THAT FLAG!
Most standard mailbox covers have a flag
affixed to the outside of the box, indicating
to your postal carrier that there is outgoing
mail. Most standard mailboxes have their flag
on the right side of the box, however the size
and way the flag is attached can vary.
To easily reveal your mailbox flag, you
can use tailor's chalk and ruler to find the
positioning of your flag, then cut a small
slice into the material, or cut away a square
of material large enough to feed the flag
through as you drape the cover over your
box. Since the project is stitched on durable
canvas, we don't have to worry about fraying.
The size and position is up to you, so feel
free to cut it as small or large as you need!
