Using tailor's chalk or a water soluble marker, mark 41⁄2" from
the top on each side.
I J
Starting at one of the 41⁄2" markings, sew the pieces together
along the side at a 1⁄4" seam allowance. Be sure to backstitch
at the beginning.
NOTE: Be sure you do not sew over the loose ties in
between the fabric except for where they are pinned!
When you arrive at the corner, leave your needle in the down
position. Raise the presser foot and rotate your work 90°.

Now, lower the presser foot back down and continue sewing
the pieces together at a 1⁄4" seam allowance. When you get
to the next corner, repeat the instructions for the previous
corner and sew until you arrive at the second 41⁄2" marking.
Backstitch any start/stop points to secure.
Using a pair of scissors, trim both bottom corners at a 45°
angle to reduce bulk when your project gets turned.
Continue pinning the fabrics together at their longest edges,
starting at the first tie and ending at the second.
