Run the next machine step, which will be the tacking stitch
for the puffy foam.

Use a pair of sharp, curved tip scissors to trim away the
excess foam close to the tacking stitch line. The padding will
be slightly inset from the sole.
Lay your choice of base fabric over the sole. Be sure to
cover it completely. You may want to secure your fabric in
place with a temporary spray adhesive or tape.

Now lay a new piece of water soluble topper over your base
fabric. Secure it in place with tape.
Run the next machine step, which will be the tacking stitch
for the base fabric.
Now, lay a piece of puffy foam on top of the placement stitch.
Be sure to cover it completely.
NOTE: If you do not have puffy or craft foam on hand, you
can use a few layers of batting instead.
