LOVELY LAYERS
LIGHT BLUE
Throughout this collection, we used multiple layers of brightly-colored organza to create
our designs. Mixing multiple organza colors together can also help create additional
blended shades. We laid out our various organza colors in small swatches, like shown
above, and combined various colors to create new ones! The more layers of organza,
the more saturated the color, while less pieces will be more sheer. We suggest trimming
scrap pieces of each of your organza colors and play with the combinations to find the
best mix. Once you’ve determined the combination of colors you want to use in your
designs, you’ll have a cohesive appearance when all the blocks get pieced together!
You can also opt to use an alternative material instead of organza for the finished effect,
such as washed cottons or dyed batiks that mimic the stained glass look. Along with
these options, you can still add the clear vinyl appliqué at the end, helping give your
project that unique appearance of being created with “glass!”
