M N
Press the seams flat with an iron.
O P
Now, topstitch along all 3 sides of the pocket at a 1⁄2" seam
allowance, encasing the raw edges inside.
If you would like to have one large pocket for your apron,
you can simply stop here. For divided pockets, keep
following along!
Q R
To create a small side pocket, measure 5" from the edge of
the topstitch, parallel to the long edge of the apron. You can
adjust this number based on personal preference. Place pins
along this measurement. NOTE: You can use tailor's chalk
and a ruler to ensure straight lines!
Sew alongside the pins, starting at the edge of the top stitch
along the bottom of the apron, stopping when you get to
the edge of the pocket fabric. Be sure to backstitch at the
beginning and end.
Turn the piece right sides out. Use a chopstick or turning tool
to push out the corners.
