PUFFY FOAM F-PY
Puffy foam is a more recent embroidery technique we’ve
experimented with and loved the dimensional effect! This
look is created through specialty digitizing, where foam
craft sheets are implemented to create a 3D effect. The
stitches have been specially digitized to run directly overtop
of a sheet of this craft foam, satin stitching the design into
it. Once the excess puffy foam is removed with tweezers
from around the stitches, the design will reveal itself in a
raised and “puffy” look. To help conceal any visible foam
from under the stitches, we suggest choosing a thread color
close to your craft foam choice. This technique is so simple
to do, you can even have younger embroiderers or kids join
in the puffy foam fun for selecting colors and hitting go!
