Using a sharp pair of curved tip appliqué scissors, trim away
any excess batting, cutting close to the tacking stitch line.
Now we need to prepare the printed fabric to be used as
our base material. To do this, use a rotary cutter and ruler to
trim the excess printable fabric from around the red border.
Continue to run your next machine step, which will be
placement stitch for your printed base fabric. NOTE: You’ll
notice this base fabric doesn’t extend to the edges, but
don’t worry! We will add folded fabric borders shortly!
Lay your base fabric over top of the placement stitch,
aligning the red lines of the printed fabric with the placement
stitch lines on the block. Use a quick mist of temporary spray
adhesive to help keep it in place.
