CUTWORK F-CW
Cutwork Embroidery is a technique where certain areas of
your project’s base fabric are removed, or cut out, creating
a negative space effect. Cutwork designs generally feature
a special marking stitch, so you’ll know exactly what areas
are needing to be trimmed. When making cutwork, it is vital
to leave your Wash-Away intact under the material you are
trimming so the cutwork will have a surface to help stabilize
it until completion. Once your design is finished, a quick
rinse in hot water will dissolve the remaining Wash-Away,
leaving a stunning series of “windows” peeking through
your fabric. With less density in the designs, cutwork is a
wonderful technique for adding interesting detail to clothing
or linens alike.
