Then, place your base fabric with the right side facing up.
Be sure to cover all sides while leaving at least a 1⁄2” seam
allowance all around.
Run the tacking stitch for your base fabric in a matching
thread color.
Run any standard embroidery steps until you have reached
the placement stitch for your standard appliqué.
The next machine step will be the tacking stitch for the
standard appliqué.
Take a piece of appliqué material and place it right side up
over top of the placement stitch.
Use scissors to trim away any excess material from the
tacking stitch.
