Now, starting at the outer edge of the design, use your
embroidery scissors to trim into the fabric along the basting
stitches and continue to snip down STOPPING once you
reach the anchoring tacking stitches (in black).
Trim in on the fabric for both sides, creating two tabs. Using
a seam ripper or curve-tipped embroidery scissors, trim
through the basting stitches and remove the excess thread,
while making sure to leave the tacking stitches in place.
Fold the fabric tabs inwards and crease each fold with your
finger. Use embroidery tape to secure the two flaps flat.
Run the next machine step, which is the folding stitch.
NOTE: Be sure that the embroidery foot does not get
caught on either of the tabs at it passes over them, or else
you may rip out your project!
