With a sharp pair of curved tip embroidery scissors, trim
away any excess batting you may have from the
tacking stitch.
Once trimmed, your batting block should look like this.
Proceed to run the next machine step, which will be a
placement stitch for your block’s base fabric.
Now, place your base fabric over your batting with right side
facing up, being sure to cover the placement stitches on all
sides. Run the tacking stitch to secure the fabric to the block.
Once tacked, we can remove the excess material since this
block will be getting folded fabric borders. Use curved tip
scissors to trim away any excess material from around the
tacking stitch.
