STITCHING A CUTWORK DESIGN
STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
First, hoop a piece of Wash-Away stabilizer under your
desired base fabric.
NOTE: For our example, we are stitching on blue cotton.
Run the first machine step, which is the special marking
stitch to indicate where the cutwork of the design will go.
Using a seam ripper or pair of curved tip embroidery
scissors, gently slice into the base fabric only, taking care
not to cut or puncture the stabilizer below.
Use your scissors to cut out any fabric that is within the
cutwork marking stitches.
