RAW EDGE APPLIQUÉ - ANATOMY OF THE DESIGN
It is best practice to always use a pair of sharp and curved
embroidery scissors when trimming appliqué. This will help
get the cleanest cut, while the curved tip will also aid in
turning the various angles in the appliqué shape.
Be careful not to get scissor happy! If you trim too closely you
can’t gain back the fabric! Remember to leave at least 1⁄8” of
fabric. The point of the raw edge technique is to have that
extra fabric sticking out from the tacking stitch.
