PAPER PIECING APPLIQUÉ - ANATOMY OF THE DESIGN
Paper Piecing is a traditional technique that can be categorized as a style of foundation piecing, which refers to the process
of building your quilt block on a foundation template. Since we practice folded fabric in the hoop with embroidery, we can
convert the standard sew and flip process into our Cornerstone method. By repeating the placement, folding, and tacking
steps for the appliqués, you will build the paper pieced design directly into your quilt block, saving you time and effort!

NOTE: Some designs have other standard appliqués incorporated. Be sure to follow the numbered steps for your design.
Notes:
Each design will be labeled with
number bubbles indicating which
fabric gets placed when. Follow
along with your numbered
steps to keep your place when
stitching out these designs.
The satin stitch in paper
piecing will cover the
folded fabric edges,
creating a clean and neat
folded look to your design.
