CRAZY QUILT - ANATOMY OF THE DESIGN
When choosing fabrics for your crazy quilt design, it is ideal to
pick fabrics that work well together but offer variety. Picking
shades of one color can look beautiful, while picking a variety
of textures can also create some contrast.
Do not leave too much fabric at the tack down line for your
appliqués. You will want to trim close while leaving your
seam allowance on the edges of the block. If the fabric is not
trimmed tight, the decorative embroidery will run over these
longer edges, and your design will end up looking sloppy.
Your embroidery foot may also catch on these edges, which
can create a whole other mess in your machine!
