INTRODUCTION TO “I CAN QUILT”
This section will give an overview of this class and what to expect. It will also talk about the Anita
Goodesign quilting technique and what makes us different.
BASIC BLOCKS
In this section you will learn how to create quilt blocks using our most common quilting techniques. You
will learn the differences between each technique and how to construct blocks entirely in the hoop.
FOLDED FABRIC BLOCKS
Folded fabric has so many uses in quilting, from creating a part of a design, to framing embroidery, to
actually decorating the entire block. Here we will look at the technique itself and the different applications.
APPLIQUÉ BLOCKS
Appliqué is used more extensively than any other technique at Anita Goodesign, including in our quilt
blocks. This section will review many of our various appliqué techniques.
BUILD YOUR OWN BLOCKS
Inspired by our popular Quilting 1, 2, 3 technique, we teach you how to merge design components into a
finished quilt block in this section.
OTHER QUILTING STYLES
In this section we highlight two of our most popular and beautiful embroidery techniques, Trapunto and
Shadow Work.
SASHING BLOCKS
This section will look at two different techniques for creating sashing blocks, which are used to edge,
frame, and add variety to a quilt.
FINISHING YOUR QUILT
Here we will look at how to assemble all of the quilt and sashing blocks. You will also learn how to add
backing and binding.
KNOWLEDGE BASE
With all blocks we’ve designed and stitched out over the years, we’ve accumulated a great deal of
experience with quilting and all the different techniques we use. This section opens the Anita Goodesign
black book of tips and tricks and shares them with you!
