QUILTING INTRO - CORNERSTONE METHOD
HOW WE LABEL THE BLOCKS
Since you now know how to create one of the blocks, we are going to show you how we will label them throughout this
curriculum book. You will see an Anatomy of the Block page for each various block type. Designs using folded fabrics will
indicate the cornerstone fabric with a star while the remaining secondary folded fabrics will be labeled with circled numbers
2, 3, 4, etc. You can see an example of a block labeled this way here. Just remember, the cornerstone piece will always use
2 steps to complete it and it is stitched face up just like a standard appliqué, while the secondary fabrics will always have 3
steps using the folded fabric method.
