TRAPUNTO QUILT BLOCK - ANATOMY OF THE DESIGN
When running the embroidery steps over your base fabric,
there are a series of decorative outlines, also known as echo
stitching, that helps emphasize the main design element.
Pick a thread for these stitches that matches your base fabric
to prevent distraction from the center. Your main trapunto
design should be outlined in a more bold or bright color to
help the design really pop.
Be sure to trim your extra batting once tacked down before
you place the base fabric. Otherwise, if you place all three
layers of batting at once, or if you forget to trim the tacked
down design, you will just end up with a thick quilt block.
