Continue with any additional appliqué and decorative
embroidery in the design’s numbered steps until there is a
placement stitch for the first folded fabric frame piece.
Trim away the excess fabric from the outside of the tacking
stitch, being sure to leave around 1⁄8” as your raw edge.
Following the numbered steps for your design, continue
to run any decorative embroidery steps until there is a
placement stitch for an appliqué.
Continue on with the tacking stitch for the base fabric. Trim
fabric if necessary.

Be sure to match your thread to your appliqué fabric!
Place a piece of appliqué fabric, right-side up, making sure to
cover each section of the appliqué placement stitch.

Since this appliqué will be unfinished on the
edges, it is best to use fabrics that will not unravel
or fray as easily, or you can pretreat your fabrics
with a liquid seam sealant.
