Take the 1” piece of trim extending out and double fold it
to conceal the raw edge. You can use a steam iron to press
the crease if needed.
Straight stitch just inside the edge of the lace trim to tack it
to the table runner, carefully removing the pins as you go.
TIP: Run a backstitch on the double folded trim edge to
secure the seams.
h
Use pins to secure the trim
in the desired placement on
the table runner.
INSET: Be sure to also secure the double fold on the
reverse side until it is stitched down.

Your table runner should be finished and look something
like this. We will now add the cutwork design to the ends of
our table runner.

Hoop two pieces of wash away stabilizer. Due to the size
of the table runner, we will be floating it on top of the
hoop, and will need to ensure we place it straight. Begin
by tracing intersecting lines at both halfway marks on the
hoop to find the center.
Stitch the placement for your cutwork design by running
the Auto Baste feature in your machine. Fold the table
runner right sides together, lining up the middle fold with
the center line you drew, adjusting up or down to place the
design box just over the trim line.
