You can now run the tacking stitch for the base fabric. It is a
good idea to match your tacking stitches to your fabric.
Trim away the excess fabric, being sure to also get the
fabric within the ribbon hole.
Your design will look something like this once trimmed.
NOTE: Some designs will have this base fabric step
before the appliqués, while others may not. Be sure to
follow the numbered steps for your design!
Run the next step in the design. For this example, it is the
placement stitch for our first appliqué.
Take a piece of appliqué and cover the placement stitches
on all sides.
Run the tacking stitch for the appliqué.
