threads
After selecting our fabrics, we can match
our threads to these, as well as adding a few
complimentary pops of color. You can even try
alternating your radial quilt color scheme to
something more neutral, such as a taupe themed
palette or even seasonally colored!
Notions
To create your block, you will need a pair of scissors
for trimming the folds as they are tacked down. You
will also want some tape handy to secure fabrics
before they are tacked down. Lastly, a rotary cutter
and ruler will help trim your block to your desired
seam allowance.
fabric
The fabrics for your radial block are what really makes the statement!
Try incorporating some bold colors and alternating between solids
and prints in your folds to create a pinwheel effect in the design. For
our blocks, we opted for a fat quarter bundle of mixed print and solid
cottons, perfect for alternating in our folds.
