Fabric Frenzy
Traditional quilt blocks come in all sorts of patterns
and fold styles! These 8 traditional style blocks can
get a modern twist with fun fabrics, but be careful
not to get too crazy! Use the numbered bubbles to
help plan placements. This will allow you to plan
accordingly where darker fabrics or solids need to be
for a visual resting space in the overall design. Patterns
can be great, but a mix of large and small prints with
coordinating solids will give the best look!
The first piece
of fabric placed
will be called the
Cornerstone and
will be indicated
with a star.
The numbered bubbles indicate the
order of the fabric folds. Use them
to help plan the placement of your
fabrics for the best arrangement to
create quilt patterns!
Quilting made easy
Anita Goodesign created a folded fabric method
to make creating a quilt block easier than ever
before! Similar to the sew and flip method
popular among quilters, Anita Goodesign
digitized a way to create pieced quilts right in
your embroidery hoop! The star indicates the
first fabric laid, also known as the Cornerstone,
which will be placed as a standard appliqué. All
the remaining numbered pieces will be placed as
folded fabrics. Each design has been numbered
to indicate how the folds will be created
chronologically.
